"The Alamo Flag (aka The 1824 Flag)"

"The Alamo Flag" (1835-1836) was a reference to the Mexican constitution of 1824, in support of which the Texas rebels were fighting; supposedly flew at the Alamo. The flag is based on the Mexican Federal Flag with the tri-colour green, white, and red fields, and has the year 1824 in the centre. The flag represents the support of the Texan rebels for the Mexican constitution of 1824, which they wanted to restore against Santa Anna's dictatorship. The Alamo flag was also the first flag approved for use by Texan forces by a legislative body. (©Wikipedia)
