"Quantrill Confederate Rebels Flag"
A flag of Confederate guerrilla fighter William Quantrill. The Quantrill flag is a small cotton and wool flag that was dropped during the raid on Olathe, Kansas, on September 7th 1862. It resembles the Confederate First National Flag but features a fist or a palmetto tree in the canton, along with the letters "Quant" for Quantrill. The flag's existence raises questions, as Quantrill is not known to have carried any flag, and claims about his use of a black flag with his last name originated in popular writings of the 1880s. The flag's small size and unusual design suggest it may have been carried by one of the raiders as a keepsake.
